STALKERS.

A couple of friends and I went to the mall today to celebrate Karen's birthday. Swetha, Alicia and I met up a little early to buy her presents. The presents we got were amazing. No kidding. But that's an entirely different story. So anyways, we went into this store and while Swetha and Alicia were obsessing over some PEACE t-shirt, I felt someone's eyes on me. I looked around to see this guy looking at me. I had a bad feeling and moved behind the clothes rack. He moved too and did this weird salute thing and made a kind of face they show in movies before doing something bad/scary. Being as paranoid as I am, I grabbed Swetha and told her to come aside. I told them quickly what had happened and we shuffled around the aisles until we landed up at the cutlery aisle. I was so tensed, I couldn't even catch my breath. I had to grab Swetha's arm tight 'cause I felt like I was about to faint. I could swear that they could hear my heartbeat out loud. They told me I was obsessing over something that was probably 100% stupid and coincidental and would be perfectly alright. But I still had a pretty bad feeling about that guy. I convinced them to come out of the store and we left. We didn't catch a glimpse of him and I began to feel better. I thought he wouldn't come back, but I was wrong.

After all the usual 'hi's' and 'hello's', we were just fooling around at the arcade. And then, that guy came with three of his other friends and said something to his friend. All of them began to look at me. Then that guy started to walk opposite but look at me every 5 seconds. I was hyperventilating. I had to catch hold of both of them before I thought I would faint. He did that again and then, I told Karen's mom and pointed at that guy. He caught me doing so. And then, Karen's mom told her dad. Her dad looked seriously at the guy for about a minute and he seemed to disappear. But it wasn't over yet.

We were bowling when I saw that guy leaning over the railing next to our bowling alley. I was freaking out inside but pretended to try appearing strong on the outside. After a while, I guess he got bored and vanished again. But then, he came back and placed himself a few yards behind us. I wasn't as scared as then because both her parents were right there and they knew about it. Even if he would do the slightest bit of thing, I would have gone straight to Karen's dad and told him. He must've got irritated and he walked away. And I never saw him after that.

That was probably the second freakiest thing that ever happened to me. The first one being I thought I was about to get kidnapped in India, but that's another story. The whole time at the mall, I wasn't able to rest. I felt that he would come again. But he didn't. And I'm glad.

I don't think I want to go to the mall any time sooner.

What We Sang?

Remember how I said that me and Alicia were either going to sing
a. She Will Be Loved
b. Mistletoe
c. Safe and Sound?

Well guess what we ended up recording? Give it a shot and guess.

---

We sang...
Crazier by Taylor Swift

Yeah. I know it wasn't even one of them, but we did it anyways. We actually practiced Mistletoe for about two and a half hours. It came out to be really pretty, but somehow, we were never satisfied with the recording. And then, we started to sing Crazier for fun and it came out perfect.

So... That's about it.

To Do for Today

1. Once Alicia is done with her piano class, we're probably just going to talk for a while.
2. Although today is a school night, Alicia and I decided to make a video of us singing. Our options?
    a. She Will Be Loved
    b. Mistletoe
    c. Safe and Sound
3. Once we're done with that (which will probably be about 4 hours long. no kidding.), we're going to complete a part of our Art Project, based on traditional artwork. Gah.
4. You won't believe it, but I have to write an obituary for a nightingale. For what? Language Homework. How stupid is that?
5. Dinner. I'm probably gonna gobble here at Alicia's house. My stomach's grumbling already.
6. Do Art till midnight. Our lives suck.
7. Sleep

The Hunger Games

While the whole world is spinning on their tails, re-reading the books and watching the movie, here is Summer Falls, who hasn't even read the book once. Yup, you heard that all right.

Thing is, I've always considered that book to be one of those old boring books which lay still and dusty on a bookshelf. But then, there started this crazy fandom and everybody around me started reading it and telling me it was better than anything else they've read. I would just sit dumb and listen to people's conversations about how AMAZING the book is. I wanted to read it bad. I asked about 4 people if I could borrow the book and their answers were either, 'I'm sorry, but I gave it to my friend to read' or 'Not right now. I'm reading it'. And I was like, WHAAAAAT? Because I wanted to read it before the movie came out. But it turns out that I'm most probably going to go next Friday, so I still have some time.

Oh come on you little slowpokes. Finish the book already! If nobody finishes it by tomorrow, I'm just going to rush the store and get a copy myself.

Thoughts

What's Going On In My Mind RIGHT NOW:
1. I have piano class in precisely 7 minutes. Uh oh.
2. I'm at Alicia's house right now. I want to watch an episode of The Lying Game right now, but her laptop buffers as slowly as it takes for her to talk. I'm only kidding. But really, she talks so very little.
3. That reminds me of how opposite we are. No really. I've mentioned this before but it's so weird how opposites end up together. I talk like crazy and she takes time to get out of her shell thing. She's never gets mad and I'm short-tempered. She's like a gentle person and I'm probably just crazy me :)
4. Guess what? My piano class is over. I paused the post when I was in the middle of the third point. Haha, coincidence :)
5. I want to watch/read The Hunger Games. Thing is, I haven't read it before. But since there is this wave of people reading it at school since the movie is coming out, everybody is telling me it's amazing. It's like this HUGE demand for the book. And so, all the people I know who have it either are reading it presently or gave it to somebody temporarily for them to read. But. I want. To. Read it.
6. It's so ironic how my dad was saying, 'You know. There aren't famous bands with Asians in them', while staring at a One Direction poster. And then, I looked at Zayn and smiled. My reply? 'AHHH! Zayn's asian, you know'.
7. I have a long weekend now. And hence, my WEEKEND started. YEAHH!
8. I was looking at the 102 Things to Do list and I just figured half of the list is crap. I should have picked a different one. I'm thinking of changing the list, but I don't think I can change the whole policy now ; its too late. Darn it.
9. The Ellen Show is probably one of the coolest talk shows on this planet. Wordd (:
10. My dad is going to pick me up in about 10 minutes. Alicia's in piano class now and I'm just watching her fail miserably. Our teacher just asked her what major scale Bflat minor was related to and guess what she said? G MAJOR! Haha :) She's such a fail. I'm just kidding. She's playing amazing.
11. I watched Breakaway starring Camilla Belle and Vinay Virmani. It was AMAZING! And of course, there was Russell Peters!
12. Austin Mahone's voice sounds a heck lot like Justin Bieber. He even looks like him :o
13. I think my dad's going to come anytime now and so, if I end this post abruptly, you'll know the reason.
14. Alicia's playing a Prelude and it's really pretty :)
15. I know this friend of mine who sings amazing. She showed me her covers of Jar of Hearts by Christina Perry and Ours by Taylor Swift. It's really good. She's going to upload it on YouTube soon. You should watch her there.
16. I think I'll end this post right here.

P.S. My dad's not here yet :)

An Original One

That. is the title of a story I have written recently for a national competition. It's about the relationship of this father and his daughter. The man's wife dies because of cancer, leading to the man heading into depression. The daughter, being only 2 years then, helped the dad come out of his shell and face the world, through a number of indirect messages and experiences. The story is all about having a positive outlook on life, being happy with who you are and life lessons.
I'm proud of it.
And I'm going to post it on this very blog sometime in April, once the results are out. I'm not allowed to do it now due to copyright reasons, I guess.

Changes

It's so weird how people change over a period of time.
It's like, one second you know that person and the next, you don't.
I know this one good friend of mine who was just the opposite of a girly girl. The kind who would mix match socks and wouldn't care. The kind who would even spend her time by telling people how nailpolish should be banned excluding Halloween. The kind who doesn't care what people think about her.
But then.
She moved states.
And then, voila! It's like I don't know her. She's like a typical girl, at least from the way it sounds. You know, the kind who's boy crazy. The kind who loves dresses. The kind who spends hours deciding between two pairs of shoes for prom.
Change isn't bad.
Not bad at all.
It's just different.
Different to see who you thought you knew to be, to be somebody else.
That's all.

102 Things

The place where I live, we have our Summer vacation from late April to mid June. Presently, my school resumes from March 19th. I have a month of school and then, vacation starts again.

Last Summer was pretty boring. So this Summer, I've decided that I'm going to do a number of things of FUN. And so, I've compiled a list of 102 Things to do before June 2012. Most of them are quite easy, but there are a few that are time-ticking.

My idea is to make weekly updates every Sunday, to see how far I am in completing my goals.

So here we go!

Day Twenty Nine : PJ Challenge

Day Twenty Nine : Saddest Character Death?
I didn't really share any special bond with any of the characters who had passed away, although I feel bad for them. But if I had to pick one, I think it would be Zoe Nightshade.

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Day Twenty Eight : PJ Challenge

Day Twenty Eight : OMG Moment a.k.a Best Plot Twist
Without any doubt, the best OMG Moment was when we found out that Luke was the real hero of the Great Prophecy. That was a crazy plot twist.

On a different note, ONLY TWO DAYS TO GO!

KONY 2012

KONY 2012 is a short film created by The Invisible Children group to create awareness about the wicked man, Joseph Kony. This video is an inspiring one and if any of you haven't watched it as of yet, I'd suggest you do when you have half an hour to spare. This video would make you realize how lucky you are and how much change needs to be done for the betterment of the world.

Many people are criticizing this movement stating that, 'Why spend so much money clearing this problem in a small portion in Africa, and rather not in other places like the slum areas of India/other places in Asia?' Well, I would agree with this too, but I think we need to understand that when something so large is already taking place, it is easier to give your support, create awareness and make a change. Even if this problem is at a lesser magnitude than other problems, isn't it better when we see a solution to this problem? 30000+ children would benefit from this movement when solved.

When this mission is over, a new mission would be bound to take place. This time, bigger and better. But for that, this mission needs to be solved by the end of 2012. For that to happen, the world needs our support.

When the whole world funds for Kony's finding, I'm pretty darn sure we'll find him. When the world stands together, we unite for a cause.

I'd request you to please support the cause and not criticize it.

The Farmhouse

About five days ago, my friends and I headed to Swetha's farmhouse in the outskirts of the city. We got there pretty quick actually. It took an hour by car. The farmhouse was beautiful, with a little pool to it's side. I love swimming, note.

Swetha has been telling us about her dog, Snoopy, since forever. She keeps telling us how ferocious Snoopy is, how much she barks, how she makes permanent scars and blah. So there we went. We walked in to the house slyly to hear Snoopy's loud barking and trampling on the staircase. We all produced little yelps and automatically stood in one straight line, clutching each other's hands. Snoopy came by to us and begin to bark at us one by one. We were freaked out. She didn't bark at me however. She just smelled my foot and went to the others. I think it's the Nicky scent she liked. After about two minutes, Snoopy was like whatever and left us alone. From that point on wards, we weren't really scared of her.

After a few minutes, we went to a nearby park and started acting like mere idiots. We were screaming and laughing hysterically, enjoying all the slides and swings. The other kids at the park were just staring at us like we were aliens. After fooling around for a while, we came back to her farmhouse. We changed into casual shorts and jumped into the pool. We played in the pool for a while and then took showers one after another.

By the time we came out, we were starving. Swetha's mom made us some yummy hot French Fries and potato something. We gobbled it all up. After having a food go, we sat down to play Dum Charades. Our team was getting hell pwned by Swethas'. It was still quite fun.

After eating pizza, we started to watch A Walk to Remember. I haven't watched it before, so it was beautiful. It was an amazing movie.

After the movie, we made a group decision to stay awake the whole night. And so, we began to talk and act stupid till like 3:30. At 3:30, some kind of a foodie monster took over all of us and we went down to the kitchen to eat and drink ; Vanilla and chocolate icecream, Sprite, Pepsi, Chocolate Sticks, Lays and other chips. We went through another eating spree.

At around 5 o' clock, half of us were sleepy. I slept along with like 3 others. The others slept at 6-ish. Our plan of staying awake the whole night failed.

We woke up around 11 o' clock. We lazed around for a while and then went to swim. Alicia didn't want to swim and so, two friends of mine pushed her straight in, in her PJ's!

We swam for a while and went to take showers again. We ate lunch and then packed all our bags. It was time to go home already!

Just the way we came here, we went back in a car. I got dropped off at Alicia's house and we had another sleepover. But that's a different story. This story had ended right there. Our farmhouse plans were all over. So quickly.

It's so weird how time passes so quick when you're having fun.

And that my peoples, is our day out!

Day Twenty Three : PJ Challenge

Day Twenty Three : A scene from the books that made you sad/cry
I don't really know...I mean, I haven't ever cried in the Percy Jackson series ; only the Harry Potter series and The Last Song was capable of doing so. Anyways, I guess I part that made me feel sad-ish was when Zoe Nightshade passed away. That was pretty sad.

Break Up?

I was looking at my previous posts and I happen to notice that I mentioned in one certain post, a few false things about the brothers and me. Here's what.

Number One : The Jonas Brothers DID NOT break up. They're working together on a new album that is yet to release. And I just.can't.wait.

Number Two : I STILL LOVE THE JONAS BROTHERS. Including Joe. Including Kevin. They're all angels. I said this the next following post after that bogus post, but I'm just repeating this statement again.

Number Three : I will stay a Jonas Brothers fanatic forever.

Number Four : Repeat. The Jonas Brothers did not break up.

This post was utterly pointless to most of you. But for those of you who think they broke up, they didn't. They didn't. They didn't. Instead they're going to be releasing some crazy amazing music quite soon!

My Dog, Nicky

I do mention my dog, Nicky, a lot on my blog but just happen to realize that I've never really shown a picture of her to you readers. So here are a few, which I adore :)

Nicky, on a fail attempt to wink

Nicky, with her innocent puppy dog face

Nicky on her Third Birthday

Nicky and a part of her extremely long tounge

I'm supposed to be having a heck more. But I just can't seem to find the file. Promise I'll upload more as soon as I find them.

Celebrations

AND YOU KNOW WHY?
MARCH FIFTH IS OVER!
AND I'M NOT A FRESHMAN ANYMORE! I'M A SOPHOMORE! YEAH! The place where I live, I'm going to be entering the second year of high school in precisely a week and a half. YEAHH!

To celebrate the celebrations, all my friends came over day before yesterday,March the Fifth, for a sleepover. We sort of did the usual things teenagers do on a sleepover. Laugh around. Kill time. Talk. Make videos of us doing crappy things. Do sing-a-longs. Dance to songs like Crazier.

During the evening, we went around my neighborhood aimlessly walking which felt quite weird considering the fact that exactly one week ago we couldn't even find time to pee. *exaggeration overboard* And the real surprise was, while we were walking, the Amazon delivery dude came to deliver... Forever Young by One Direction! I actually ordered it for Swetha, and hence, she was quite overwhelmed :)

By the time we came back home, my dad had another surprise in store for us. He bought a cake with icing stating, 'HURRAY! WE'RE SO PHOMORES!'. Yes. The icing said 'So Phomores', which was really funny. We cut the cake together and my dad made a fail attempt of opening a champagne bottle. It was not really the alcoholic champagne, but rather a non-alcoholic cider bottle that looked just like champagne. The whole unofficial sophomore party was unplanned, but was fun. We took pictures, ate cake and drank some cider :)

After that, we went to Blockbuster, the DVD rental store and got two movies - From Prada to Nada and Paranormal Activity Three. We came back home and started playing karoke. We sang for a while and then went down to eat PIZZA! Jealous? We gobbled down some and started to watch From Prada to Nada. The beginning was actually boring, but then it started to get good. Just when we were all into the movie, something happened to the DVD and it got stuck. After minutes of groaning, we put in Paranormal Activity Three. One of my friends, Sally forced herself to sleep cause she was scared of scary movies. My other friend, Rachel left because she had to go. So there we sat, watching the movie. Swetha began to yell in the middle of the movie, Karen put the blanket over her and Alicia and me were just shutting our eyes and ears tight whenever we thought it was scary. Typical. Once the movie was done, I put together all my nerves to go check behind the sofa. Swetha slept immediately to get herself out of the scare. To get ourselves out of the chilly mood, we put in High School Musical. And boy. We realized we actually missed that movie. It was really cute. We watched the movie and then Swetha woke up. We talked and then, I slept. Those three continued to talk. Then Swetha slept. Then the other two slept. Then I woke up and Alicia and Karen did too. I slept again and Swetha woke up. These night shifts continued till like 4 o' clock. Few of us woke up at 5 and started the morning shift rounds! It was funny, but hell tiring.

All of us woke up at 7:30, including Sally, who was asleep throughout. We spent the rest of the day watching videos of One Direction, playing on the iPad and playing karaoke. By 7:30, everyone had left except Alicia. Our voices synchronize and harmonize really well, so we decided to perfectionize a few songs. And we did. We were sleepy by like 9:30-ish and we fell straight to a looooong slumber.

We woke up just about four hours ago and did nothing. We ate breakfast and watched an episode of Pretty Little Liars. She had to leave and here I am, blogging.

So that's about it. Tomorrow, we're all meeting up at Swetha's house and from there, we're going to her farmhouse which is in the outskirts of the city. I CAN'T WAIT!

I love my life.

Day Twenty Two : PJ Challenge

Day Twenty Two : A scene from the books that made you happy/laugh
The part where Percy confesses to Annabeth that he thought about her before dipping into the River Styx. The part where Percy confesses to Annabeth that he likes her. The part where Annabeth and Percy have their underwater moment. <3

The First Confession

Here goes my first confession.
The Confession : I am not smarter than a fifth grader.
I'm just kidding. That's not the real confession. Here's the real one :
The Real Confession : I am not from San Diego. I mean, I am from San Diego, but I don't live there anymore. I live somewhere else in the planet. I haven't made myself very clear, have I? But it's the truth. I couldn't hide it anymore. I moved from San Diego a few years ago. Yup. That's the thing.

I have gotta change my Blogger Profile from San Diego to elsewhere.

Day Twenty One : PJ Challenge

DISCLAIMER : Three Day Challenges in a single day 'cause I had to catch up with the days I missed
Day Twenty : If you were stuck on an island forever with the condition that only one god could visit you, which god would it be?
I was going to say Poseidon, because he would probably free me from the island by transporting me to the civilized world through a water driven tube system or something.
But since there is a rule that I must stay on the island forever, I think I would choose Apollo 'because he's funny. He'd probably come over to visit and say some really funny haiku or just flirt with the tree nymphs :)

Day Twenty : PJ Challenge

Day Twenty : Your favorite mythological creature?
Whoops. I just realized I included my favorite mythological creatures under Day 18, where I had to mention my favorite Greek myth.
Incase you haven't realized, my favorite mythological creatures are THE FATES.
The Fates are really interesting, although I don't really understand how they just appear right before a person is about to die. But yeah.

Day Nineteen : PJ Challenge

Day Nineteen : Your favorite Hero?
Do I have to say anymore?
Well duh. JACKSON THE PERCY! YEAH!

b. Have you ever felt that you don't know where you are heading anymore? If so, will you keep on going till you realize you want to head somewhere else or would you stop and think things over first?
- Interesting. Firstly, yes. I have felt that I don't know where I am heading anymore. However, at a very low degree. Consider it to be at a low Freshman degree. :) If I would feel this way later on, I guess I would keep going on for I have come that far but evaluate my path and weigh out the options

c. What's your go to snacks?
- OREOS ALL THE WAY!

d. Where would you want to go if money and time are not the biggest concern?
- I'm travelling to Europe this year anyways. Hence, I'd probably want to visit Australia or Antarctica, although it would be freezing hell.

e. Do you keep a bucket list? If so, will you mind sharing the top 5 on the list? And have you crossed out any of them yet?
- Well, I do keep a mental bucket list. Meaning, the list is always in my head. I just never put it down. The top 5 would probably be

- Being born

h. If you could reverse one decision in your life, what would it be?
- Not making that stupid silly mistake in the other day's Physics test. I'm just kidding. If I could reverse one decision/period of time in my life, it would be back in the fifth grade when I used to think my life was hectic back then. I should have seen the future me.

i. Would you rather be living a laid back or adventurous life?

Speak Now : The Review

Challenge Summer #15 - This prompt has been given to me by Katherine, a total Taylor Swift fangirl. Word/Page Limit : Not specified

SPEAK NOW. SPEAK NOW. SPEAK NOWWW :D :D :D
1. Mine : Although I've got sick of this song, listening to it for a long time, it's a wonderful song. I loved it, but the only thing was ; it sounded similar to one of her other songs. I just can't make it.
2. Sparks Fly : Currently, Sparks Fly is my favorite song. It's AMAZING. Drop everything now. Meet me in the pouring rain... :) You should listen to the cover of this girl of this song. It's amazing.
3. Back to December : Do I really need to say much?
4. Speak Now : I've realized I've only listened to this song about a week ago. But I fell in instant love with it. It's beautiful. However, it reminds me much of 'Lovestory'
5. Dear John : This song is just okay. Either I just don't like the beat of the song or the fact that I've only listened to it once.
6. Mean : Ahh. I love this song. It's probably one of the best Taylor Swift can pull off because of her accent.
7. The Story of Us : I just like the chorus of this song. It's cute :D
8. Never Grow Up : Aw. I just listened to the song right now and I like it already. It's really pretty and I love the chorus.
9. Enchanted : Initially, I didn't like this song. But now? One word : Enchanting.
10. Better Than Revenge : It's okay. It's not that bad. Not that great. I just like the part where Taylor goes all like, 'Now go stand in the corner and THINK about what you did.' HAHA :)
11. Innocent : Mm mm. *shaking head* I don't really like this one.
12. Haunted : This song is actually really pretty. I love the background instrumental music.
13. Last Kiss : I actually really like this song. But it's not one of those kinds I'd listen to over and over again. But it's still really pretty.
14. Long Live : This song is one of those okay songs as well. Not that intriguing. Not that horrible either.

Overall, Speak Now was an amazing album. It was beautiful and hope she makes amazing songs her next album as well!
