So I've read this poem called The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coderidge (split into two halves), and its a pretty good one alright.
But there are just a couple of things that I don't understand.
Why in the world does the Mariner even stop the wedding guest to tell his story?
Why does the weather fluctuate around a million times across just a few stanzas?
Is the ship cursed because he killed the Albatross? -_-
Did the sailors die and start to torment the Mariner?
Or did the Mariner die as well?
But if he died, then how did he stop the wedding guest and recite this story?
But if he didnt die, how did they hang him with an Albatross around his neck?
And when did they pick up the Albatross?!
The poem leaves so many questions unanswered.
And now I'm just confused.
But.
It's a beautiful poem alright, and you've gotta read it(:
---
OH FAIL.
Okay, so I'm typing this out 15 minutes later from when I actually posted this post.
So I googled this up cause I was curious.
And it turns out that there are 7 parts to this poem -_-
The book I was reading it from attached only 2 parts of the poem to it, so obviously, I had questions unanswered.
Okay, I'm going to go finish the poem off now (:
And if you're interested, here's a link to the seven part poem.

Lesson learnt : Google it before blogging it.

An Original One
That. is the title of a story I have written recently for a national competition. It's about the relationship of this father and his daughter. The man's wife dies because of cancer, leading to the man heading into depression. The daughter, being only 2 years then, helped the dad come out of his shell and face the world, through a number of indirect messages and experiences. The story is all about having a positive outlook on life, being happy with who you are and life lessons.
I'm proud of it.
And I'm going to post it on this very blog sometime in April, once the results are out. I'm not allowed to do it now due to copyright reasons, I guess.

The Voice
Along with my two other friends, I've successfully completed writing a ballad. Although it requires a lot more editing, here's how it goes...
Whilst riding me horse,
I hear a precious tone.
Hear an enthralling voice.
I stop startled.
Turn me horse 'round,
To follow the irresistible melody.
I come closer to see,
A beautiful maiden,
Dressed in pearl green.
Singing thy song,
Whilst picking berries.
Then I know,
How it feels,
To be encaptured by
One's love and beauty
I get down me horse,
In a trance of fascination.
I stand mesmerized,
Wanting to speak,
I stumble forward,
Taking a breath,
To say four words,
In the enchanting moment.
All of a sudden,
Four men appear from the woods,
Gag the maiden,
And within a flash,
Took the lady away.
I run to me horse
In shock and despair,
To chase the men,
Who took love away.
The minutes that followed,
I fought the men,
Just like Trevelyan,
And took my love with me.
At last I say the four words,
"Will you marry me?"

I LIKE THAT STUFF.
The following poem contains a pattern. Guess whether you can guess?
Crunchy oatmeal cookies,
Yummy pound cake.
Chocolate coated strawberries,
Large veggie sandwiches.
Deliciously cooked pasta,
Tasty pepperoni pizza.
Spicy red chicken,
Store bought cereal.
Mom's homemade lasagna,
Mouthwatering licorice.
BOY OH BOY!
I LOVE THAT STUFF!
---
In case any of you have guessed, it's a lame pattern I know, but the thing is in the poem, two sentences are paired. And in these two sentences, the food items start with the same letter. Yeah. That's sorta it.

A Father-Daughter Thing
sitting on my dad's lap,
listening while he reads me a story,
laughing while he makes silly faces,
shouting while he tickles me.
now,
i sit next to him
thinking about those days,
the days of beautiful memories

Lost In A Store
NOTE: This post, well I have written during my Writing Workshop. And hence, would be quite formal when compared to the usual Summer. So read on.
It was a cold winter evening in Detroit when my five year old self and my dad had decided to buy a few food supplies at the nearby grocery store. Since we had gone to Detroit to visit our cousins, we were not familiar with the area but had managed to go to the store without much trouble.
While my dad was carrying out his errands, my eyes began to drift across the store aimlessly. And then, I saw it. Standing on the rack right there was the all-new Powerpuff Girl's Lunchbox. My eyes widened and I jumped with joy. I pulled my dad to the opposite aisle and showed him what I wanted. My dad gave me a look and shook his head to say, 'No'. It was as if a balloon had burst. I asked him again. But I had heard, once again, the same reply. I stood there, admiring the perfect lunchbox while my dad continued to buy the supplies. Five minutes had passed by and I looked around for my dad. He was standing there, in the refreshments aisle. I realised it was hopeless to wait for my dad to buy the lunchbox and walked to him. He walked to a few more aisles and I followed respectfully. Just when I was about to call him, he turned around. I gasped. The man infront of me was not my dad but rather a middle aged Chinese man. I ran away from him mmediately and began to search for my dad in tears. After another 5 minutes of searching, I saw my dad with his arms our, waiting for me. I ran to him and cried even more. He laughed, telling me not to cry. Yet, in shock and happiness, I cried into his shoulders.
After a long time of sobbing and crying, we went back home. And guess what? I went back home with my Powerpuff Girl's Lunchbox.
Another Note: I assure you everything above is an actual real life personal narrative and is absolutely 100% true. Well actually 85% true. *sighs*

What I Would Not Say to a T-Rex
We did this in our creative writing workshop. It was pretty cool and so, I'm gonna type it out.
1. "Hey! I put on a new perfume that smells like 'chicken meat'. Wanna smell dude?"
2. "Do you want to have a fist fight with me?"
3. "I'll have that last bit of the yummiest pasta mom. Don't give any to this weirdo."
4. " You smell real bad. Like a stinky sock that hasn't been washed for years?"
5. "What's up with your body? It has slimy stuff all over. Gross."
6. "You're too ugly to get married."
7. "How come you're bald?"
8. "A snail can run faster than you, you doofus."
9. "Your nose looks like Voldemort's."

Sprouting Randomness Part Three
Back On To The Brothers
Face it, Summer. I cannot, absolutely cannot stay away from the Jonas Brothers. I just cant stay mad at them for more than a week. They're just plain amazing. And I'm not explaining my obsession all over again.
Creative Writing Aboard!
I'm taking these real cool creative writing sessions with a few people from my neighborhood. It's pretty fun. We do these creative writing activities and she gives us things to write about and stuff. Considering the fact I want to be a journalist/free-lance writer/author/something-to-do-with-literature, it's a good step ahead.
Pudding=Rock Cakes?
Alicia came over two weeks ago and we tried making chocolate pudding from a recipe in the newspaper. Guess what it turned out like? Hagrid's rock cakes.
Being A Different Person
Do you feel that way too? Or act that way? I'm a total different person at school when compared to the way I act 'round family. Alicia says she acts like that too. It's not necessarily that one character is good and the other one is bad. It's just that both are quite...different.
One Direction!
Another obsession kicks in. ONE DIRECTION FOREVER YEAHH! I sort of don't even like all of them that much. Harry's like a Nick Jonas dupe dude. Zayne's like a Joe Jonas dupe. Tomlinson and the other guy, I don't even know much about them or haven't listened to their X Factor performances much. That leaves Liam Payne. LIAM <3
Pretty Cool Nails
Unfortunately, I don't have nails. But for those girls who do, make sure you check this, in case you haven't. My favorites are the 'Cookie Monster' ones and the 'M&M' ones and the 'Newspaper' ones.
Guess what?

bobos
Back in eighth grade, I made up this new religon namely, 'Bobo'. Which I promise to explain further later. But the reason I brought this up was because Questa happened to write a poem about me named, 'bobo'. This poem, again, is full of inside jokes, so you may be like, "Okay. What did I just read?". But for the people who get the jokes, it is quite sweet. ---
bobo
Who uses BOBO
Anyway?
.dancing
sprigofsunshine.
.twirling
rainbowstreak.
.strangest
spiralledcircle.
That's who. ---
Just try to put your metaphorical brain to use, and you might actually decode this poem. Of course, it's very pretty. Thanks Questeeeee :)

The Metaphor Master
Yes, I've not been blogging lately cause I have a whole bunch of things to do. Believe me, my life's like a PB&J sandwich now. Totally jam packed. However, my friend, Alicia and me did find time to squeeze in a little time to write a poem about our very unique Questa. The poem's not very poetic but it sure does describe Questa. But...WARNING : The poem contains 85% of inside jokes and hidden metaphors and very wrong grammar, so be very careful people. Here it goes:
The Metaphor Master
as artistic as Da Vinci
as bunny as a bibliography
as cool as a coconut
as dillybee as dillyweed
as extemporaneous as a jackal
as fun as fruit salad
as goodie-goodie like Santa
as happy as Bob
as inky as an inkball
as jolly as Willy Wonka
as kindle as kindle
as limericky as an Australian
as metaphorical as a frog
as neverending as her middle names
as optimistic as a bumblebee
as pessimistic as an iguana
as quiet as a whisper
as rowdy as a snail
as splendid as the Jo Bros
as terrifical as a skyscraper
as ultaa-pultaa as a rolie-polie
as velocity as a cheetah
as womanly wishful
as x-tremely extreme as a business woman
as yo yo as a gangster (dude, it's opposite day)
as zamboree as a zambormaster
BY : Wine and Pig The Greats (Our Pen Names)
So, how was it? Most probably, your reaction must be, "EHH? What is that supposed to be?". Well, truth is... it is quite bad. But you see, that's just cause it's a based on a bunch of inside jokes. Which I cannot really explain. *sighs* Oh well, next time I post a poem, I'll remember to make it very poetic and grammatical.
