Pottermore?

I thought Pottermore was supposed to be open for all back in October 2011.
1. How come it's still not open?
2. What's BETA?
3. When would it be open?

    2. BETA is where they let a million fans one to the site to test it for bugs and what not.
    3. Also no idea.
    4. I'm in BETA. You're not missing much, it's not a very good site. Check out MyHogwarts instead.
